What is the primary purpose of your website?

06/08/2011 By Phyllis Orzalli

People visit your site because they are interested in or attracted to its content. Once they are there you need to show them exactly what action to take. To convert your visitor to a qualified lead, you need a compelling call-to-action on every page. This is important because visitors don’t always enter your website from your home page.

What is a compelling call-to-action?

It is something that your visitor will value, and you can gift it to them in return for their name and email. Valuable offerings can include:

  • Webinars
  • Podcasts
  • e-books
  • 30-minute consultation
  • Free Class
  • Trial Offer

Make sure your call-to-action is easy to use and prominent. It should be a very short form for a name and email. It should be placed above the fold if possible so it won’t be missed.

The primary purpose of your website is to create a list of visitors that are interested in what you have to offer. Now that you have your list of interested visitors you can keep them up to date on your offerings, new products, news, etc. It is advisable not to exceed more than one e-mail per week.

If you need support setting up and/or managing your email campaign, contact me for a complimentary consultation to discuss how I can be of service to your business.
