Tagline – Is Yours Effective?

05/24/2011 By Phyllis Orzalli 2 Comments

“A tagline is a slogan, clarifier, mantra, company statement or guiding principle that describes, synopsizes or helps create an interest.”

Debra Koontz Traverso
Outsmarting Goliath

The benefit of having a tagline is that at a glance it will create the essence, personality, and positioning of your business. It will clarify or describe the benefit you have to offer to the consumer at a glance. It will explain how your business is different from other brands that offer the same products or services.

Your tagline will be most effective if it triggers an emotional response of its reader. It should be memorable. Shorter taglines tend to be easier to remember then longer ones especially if it is clever, unique, or has a rhyme to it.

The 3 key elements to an effective tagline are:

• easy to remember
• has main benefit
• set your brand apart

Do you recognize which brands these taglines represent?

You are so welcome. It is a challenge. Part of the challenge may be knowing who your target market is.
