We have a quail family of at least 15 or 20 chicks plus their parents that live close by our house. Last evening I caught this proud papa watching over his brood from the top of the fence as they scratched the garden dirt for their dinner.
The next morning there they were in the front yard searching for breakfast. Again there was papa standing watch like the good parent that he is as I took this photo from the front door. What a beauty he is.
As I stood there admiring papa quail here came a hummingbird tasting every flower she could find. I thought she wanted her photo taken too.
