What is a favicon? It is that little icon that appears next to your website’s URL in the address bar of a browser. It shows up in front of your URL when your website is bookmarked, or on the tabs in tabbed browsers and Windows Internet short cuts. This is part of your branding recognition for your online visitors and customers. It is tiny but mighty.
The icon is 16 pixels x 16 pixels. It is a tricky process to be able to get such a small graphic to be somewhat recognizable.
